Hecatombe pertenece a esa categoría de piezas que funcionan más como un proceso que como un relato: una invocación, un desgarro, una reconstrucción. Desde el inicio, María Castañeda propone un viaje que no se queda en lo anecdótico, sino que se adentra en los pliegues de la memoria y del cuerpo, como si ambas cosas fueran territorio indisoluble. El estreno tuvo lugar en la Sala B del Teatro Cánovas, un espacio íntimo, casi de laboratorio, que obliga al público a situarse muy cerca del centro de gravedad emocional de la obra. Y, sin embargo, se puede intuir que Hecatombe tiene una respiración más amplia, que su material, a la vez físico, poético y sonoro, pide crecer, expandirse, probarse en escenarios de mayor escala donde la amplitud espacial le permita desplegar su peso y su potencia.Castañeda, que firma e interpreta la obra, sostiene el espectáculo desde una presencia polifacética que es probablemente su rasgo más destacado. Su cuerpo y su voz funcionan como instrumentos que se afinan y desafinan a propósito: el canto emerge en momentos clave, como una grieta emocional y una forma de expresar. La expresión corporal es firme, matizada, a ratos arrebatada y a ratos contenida.Lo que hace de Hecatombe una experiencia particular es su manera de crecer. La obra empieza con una aparente calma, casi como si fuera un ritual preparatorio, pero poco a poco se adentra en zonas más profundas, más incómodas, más sensoriales. Ese avance in crescendo es uno de sus mayores aciertos: la pieza se va cargando de capas, de resonancias, de preguntas sin respuesta. Y es precisamente en ese aumento de intensidad donde la dramaturgia encuentra su mejor ritmo. El monólogo final actúa como un vértice emocional. No es simplemente un cierre narrativo, sino una condensación del viaje. Castañeda se queda casi desnuda de artificios, sosteniendo la palabra con una claridad y una vulnerabilidad que le dan sentido al trayecto que hemos presenciado. Es un momento que respira verdad, que deja un silencio lleno de electricidad en la sala. En conjunto, Hecatombe es una obra que parece estar en un punto de ebullición temprana: una pieza con mucho potencial, que ya funciona con fuerza en la cercanía de la Sala B, pero que apunta claramente hacia territorios más grandes, donde sus capas audiovisuales y su teatralidad física podrían expandirse con mayor contundencia. Es un trabajo que tiene voz propia, y que, como los proyectos que nacen con impulso honesto, promete seguir creciendo.
